Matt Nugent, M.D
Matthew Nugent, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with sub specialty training in shoulder reconstruction and sports medicine. He has practiced in Southern Oregon since 2013. He sees patients out of the Grants Pass office. He has performed thousands of surgeries and has established himself as one of the highest volume Shoulder surgeons in the region.
Dr. Nugent received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School in Illinois. He then completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center and Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. Upon completing his residency, he completed additional fellowship training in shoulder reconstruction and sports medicine at the renowned Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Greenville, South Carolina.
Dr. Nugent takes a personalized approach to each patient and condition. He utilizes the latest techniques and is actively involved in the advancement of shoulder surgery. He is excited to be part of the Oregon Shoulder Institute and all that it offers its patients.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. All are actively involved in sports. They also enjoy traveling. Most free summer nights you will find them on a lake somewhere surfing behind their boat.
