Shoulder MRI review

A second opinion before anyone picks up a scalpel

Shoulder imaging findings do not always match a patient's symptoms. That is why this review does not start with a short office visit - it starts with Dr. Denard personally working through your MRI, image by image.

  • Your imaging reviewed personally by Dr. Denard
  • A recorded video walkthrough of what he sees
  • A written report and after-care guidance
  • An honest answer on whether surgery would actually help

Experience matters

What our patients say

“I had a right shoulder replacement. The surgery was at 7:30am and I was discharged that same morning at 10:30am. Dr. Denard called me that same evening to make sure I was doing well.”

“I re-tore my shoulder and sought out four different opinions. Thankfully I found Dr. Denard. Easier PT, range of motion was great right after the sling came off.”
Barry A. Perlmutter
“I had constant pain and could hardly sleep. After four months and my determination to do my exercises, I am pain free and on my way to a full recovery.”

Common questions

Answers before your first visit

The questions patients ask us most often, answered plainly.

Is surgery all you offer for shoulder or elbow problems?

No! While our experts perform surgery, most people we see are treated without surgery. A variety of approaches can be used from prescriptions to physical therapy to injections. Our goal is to get you recovered in the most conservative way possible.

How long does it take to recover from shoulder or elbow surgery?

Recovery varies by the procedure. Recovery from a rotator cuff repair or shoulder replacement, for instance, takes 6 months. However, about 70 to 80% of the recovery occurs in the first 3 months.

How much pain will I have after shoulder or elbow surgery?

Our goal is to control and ease your pain. We use a multi-modal approach to pain to limit the need for narcotics as much as possible. The good news is that 1/3 of our patients do not require any narcotics after surgery.

What if I live far away and can’t be seen in the office?

A virtual visit, or TeleHealth visit, allows an evaluation through the use of video-conferencing. This allows you to connect with a physician and obtain an evaluation without going into the office. A virtual visit is particularly useful for obtaining an opinion from a provider outside of your normal area or for patients who have to travel far to see a doctor.
